Concerts and Events

Malcolm Proud, organist of St. Canice’s Cathedral, will make his BBC Proms debut on Saturday 14th August when he will feature as both soloist and continuo player in two of this year's Bach Day concerts at 11.30 am and at 1.30 pm in Cadogan Hall London, in performances of J.S. Bach’s six Brandenburg Concertos, with the English Baroque Soloists under the guidance of Sir John Eliot Gardiner.

At the centre of the second concert at 1.30 pm is Concerto No. 5, (featuring Malcolm as harpsichord soloist) with its elaborate cadenza for solo harpsichord;
A few days prior to his Proms concert Malcolm will appear as soloist and continuo player with the English Baroque Soloists and Sir John Eliot Gardiner at the Schleswig Holstein Festival in Germany.

Excerpts from the two concerts will be televised on BBC in the evening of Saturday August 14th.

Earlier this year Malcolm Proud’s recording of the 5th Brandenburg Concerto with the English Baroque Soloists was released on the Soli Deo Gloria (SDG) label to great critical acclaim.
